Hi again! Five days in the classroom this week and busy as usual!
Yesterday we had the privelege of going to Gore for the Fonterra Science Roadshow - we learnt about changing the properties of matter, the five senses and other scientific concepts to do with communication, movement and forces, light and sound.
There were many interactive displays as always and Hannah and Mckenzie also had the fun of helping during the two demonstrations - videos will be added soon!
This week the pupils will write a reflection comment about what they enjoyed at the Roadshow and what they would like to know more about...

What i like about the Fonterra Science Road show.I liked how we could roam free looking at all the different projects, my favourite project was the peppers ghost project, you looked into a scope and you saw a rocking chair then when you pressed the button a skull apeared!
It was awesome.I would like to learn more on how they done that.
what i liked about the sicence roadshow was the fire and ice show becuase they made stuff go poof:)
What I liked about the science road show was when the man burned a hole right though a sheet of steel with fire. I also never knew that you could set fire to flour.
I enjoyed looking at all the equiment I liked the touch screen. I would like to know more about how the tanker workes.

Yesterday we went to the sience road show it was really cool my favorite part was lifting my self up on the chair.
I really want to know how the chair works.
What I liked about the 'Science RoadShow' was when the man that was talking to us about the 'Fire & Ice' show, blew a big fireball at the audience! You sure felt the heat!
I also enjoyed it when he let us roam around the hall and play with all the science experiments.
I really liked the sound waves when you used the static electricity to make the sound pitch go higher and lower.
It was a great day!
I would really like to learn how heat makes air expand.
